Deputies will increase patrols at the Lincoln County Courthouse on election night

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – As the heated presidential race sprints to the finish line, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is stepping up election night patrols.

According to Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer, they will have a deputy patrol the polls after security leaves at 5 p.m. and will be present until all votes are counted.

Other counties, such as Scotts Bluff County, received election security funding through the Nebraska Crime Commission to patrol all polling places Tuesday.

Sheriff Mark Overman said that while a record number of citizens voted early, they are not aware of any specific threats or issues with election security.
