2024 Edge Computing 100

CRN features the top 100 edge computing companies, including the top 25 cybersecurity companies, 25 IoT and 5G vendors, and 50 hardware, software and services companies.

Companies at the forefront of the global edge computing market range from cloud giants and cybersecurity superstars to hybrid work specialists and AI startups.

With market research firm IDC expecting worldwide spending on edge computing to reach $228 billion in 2024, CRN breaks down 100 market leaders at the top of the charge.

“Key technologies such as AI-powered devices, edge servers with GPUs and 5G connectivity are gaining ground, enabling organizations to process data closer to the source and achieve higher performance,” said Alexandra Rotaru, IDC’s data and analytics manager, in -a statement.

IDC also estimates that the global edge computing market will reach $378 billion by 2028, driven by demand for real-time analytics, automation and improved customer experiences.

Organizations are using edge computing to improve the response time of their remote devices and gain better insight from device data. Edge technologies make real-time computing possible in locations where it would not normally be feasible, while reducing bottlenecks in networks and data centers that support edge devices.

The 100 companies that made the CRN 2024 Edge Computing 100 list play a critical role, providing tailored offerings—from infrastructure deployment to AI integration and edge management—to help companies of all shapes and sizes embrace edge computing.

Market leaders in infrastructure and software include everyone from Amazon Web Services, Eaton, Dell Technologies and Nvidia to Cloudbrink, Versa Networks and Splunk by Cisco. On the IoT and 5G front, companies from AT&T and T-Mobile to EdgeQ and Silicon Labs are paving the way for the future. Finally, cybersecurity companies like Armis, Barracuda Networks, Forcepoint, Palo Alto Networks, and Zscaler are making big investments in security.
