The GNLU Center for Company Law and Competition Law was established on 13 October 2012 by Justice KA Puj, Former Judge, High Court of Gujarat with multiple objectives and endeavors to act as a platform for expanding the scope and horizon of corporate and competition law through multi-dimensional research activities and publications. With the introduction of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, the Center for Company and Competition Law has been renamed the “GNLU Center for Company and Insolvency Laws” (GCCIL) with effect from 30 January 2020.

As one of the centers of excellence of GNLU Gandhinagar, one of the first national law universities in India, GCCIL was established to conduct cutting-edge research and activities that would broaden the focus and horizon of research and publication in the field of corporate and insolvency law. Since its establishment, the Center has been a forerunner in the field of research and training. The Center has organized several research, training and extension activities in the field of corporate, competition and insolvency law.

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Council of India was established on 1 October 2016 under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (the Code). It is a key pillar of the ecosystem responsible for the implementation of the Code that consolidates and amends the laws relating to the reorganization and resolution of insolvency of legal entities, partnership firms and natural persons in a time-limited manner to maximize the value of the assets of these persons. people, promote entrepreneurship, availability of credit and balance the interests of all stakeholders.

About the Contest

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) announces Essay Competitions for Higher Education Students through Learning Institutes with the aim of engrossing the students in the pragmatism and pragmatism of Insolvency Law in India. IBBI, in its endeavor to sensitize higher education students about the Insolvency and Bankruptcy regime, is promoting Essay Competitions. As part of this scheme, the GNLU Center for Company and Insolvency Law (GCCIL), in collaboration with IBBI, organizes an essay competition for students pursuing higher studies. The competition will provide higher education students with an opportunity to demonstrate a phenomenal articulation and understanding of Digitization of the IBC ecosystemthe theme of this event, thus reflecting and rendering exceptional research and documentation skills. IBBI will, through this competition, issue a certificate of participation to all essay competition participants, a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 to the student who wrote the best essay and a cash prize of Rs.5,000. for the student who wrote the best second essay.

Plagiarism Policy: Contributions must be original and unpublished work of the author. All submissions will go through a plagiarism check. The University reserves the right to reject any submission found to be plagiarized beyond the limit prescribed by the UGC.

Identification: The identity of the author should not be mentioned anywhere in the submission. Participants are required to submit a cover exclusive of their transmission with personal data, ie. Name, affiliated institute, semester, year, email address, phone number

Co-authors: All submissions must have a single author. Co-authoring is not allowed

Second Best Submission: INR 5,000
