UNH poll shows Harris ahead of Trump in Massachusetts and Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) — The University of New Hampshire Polling Center released Bay State and Ocean State polls ahead of the 2024 presidential election that showed Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump.

In Massachusetts, 60% of likely voters said they would vote or had already voted for Harris, compared to 34% for Trump, while in Rhode Island 54% of likely voters chose the vice president compared to 40% for the former president .

UNH also released polls that asked likely voters how they would vote on ballot measures in each state.

In Massachusetts, 65% said they would approve an audit of the state legislature, versus 19% against, 55% support unionizing transportation workers, versus 25% against, 49% support eliminating MCAS versus 43% against, and 48% support limitation. the legalization of certain psychedelic substances versus 36% against.

However, 45 percent of likely voters in Massachusetts said they would not support a minimum wage for tipped workers, compared to 41 percent who said they supported such a wage.

Meanwhile, in Rhode Island, 47 percent of likely voters said they opposed a constitutional convention, while 34 percent said they supported it.

In the Massachusetts Senate race, 60% of voters said they would vote for Sen. Elizabeth Warren, while 37% would vote for John Deaton, while in the Rhode Island Senate race, 54% would vote for Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse , supporting over 40% Patricia Morgan.
