Man seriously injured in north St. Louis County crash – Duluth News Tribune

PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A 55-year-old man was hospitalized after a rollover accident on Sunday.

St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office Louis responded at 11:40 a.m. to a report of a vehicle rollover in the 5900 block of Crane Lake Road, according to a news release. A passerby had found the vehicle in a ditch with the man trapped inside.

Deputies and medical personnel extricated the man from the vehicle and he was airlifted to a local hospital. Authorities described his injuries as serious but not life-threatening and said there were no witnesses to the crash.

“The driver’s name is being withheld pending family notification,” the statement said.

First responders and the Buyck Fire Department, US Border Patrol agents, Orr Ambulance and Fire Department and Life Link Medical Flights assisted at the scene.

Our newsroom occasionally reports articles under the name “staff”. Often the designation “staff” is used when rewriting basic news that comes from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and that requires little or no reporting. Sometimes this description is used when a story includes multiple authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If external sources are used, they are noted in the story.
