Brazilian President Lula is stable after further tests on his October head injury

SAO PAULO – Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who suffered a head injury last month, underwent imaging tests in Brasilia on Sunday, with the medical report indicating his condition remained stable.

Lula can carry out his usual activities and his condition will be reassessed in a week, according to the report issued by the Sirio-Libanes Hospital in Brasilia.

In late October, Lula fell at home and suffered a small brain hemorrhage and trauma to the back of the head that required stitches, said his personal physician Roberto Kalil.

The Brazilian leader has been working from the Presidential Palace but has canceled international travel, including to the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders’ forum in Lima and the United Nations COP29 summit in Azerbaijan. Reuters
