Brooks fire crews and police responded to a pair of vehicle fires in that city on Tuesday and initially determined both were accidental. No injuries were reported after emergency officials responded to the Canadian Tire parking lot and a residence on Greenbrook Drive on Oct. 22. Firefighters extinguished a fully engulfed vehicle outside the store, and the initial investigation suggests a stray cigarette butt as the cause. Crews also dealt with an engine compartment fire in a Dodge Charger on the residential street. A mechanical or electrical problem is the suspected cause. 5
