Fourth graders compete in the fire safety “heated” poster contest

PARIS, Texas (KXII) – On Wednesday, October 30, the Paris Fire Department presented trophies to the 24 fourth grade students from 8 Lamar County schools who participated in the annual fire safety poster contest.

Every October, during fire safety month, prizes for the top 3 posters are submitted to each school and judged by Paris firefighters.

Each poster is judged on originality, clarity, order and content.

Blossom Elementary student Lincoln Oats’ poster received the most votes and was named the overall winner. His poster included drawings, attachments such as a real smoke detector and short reminders such as “Stop, Drop and Roll” and “Plan an escape route”.
