MARIETTA, Ga. – Kai Cenat, a famous social media personality from New York who built his career by streaming live on Twitch, claims he fell victim to another racketeering scheme.

He posted a photo of the police at his mansion on X, saying: “To be beaten smh (shaking my head) hold on I gotta be out.”

In the comments section of that post, one of his followers posted what appeared to be Kai on the live stream, reacting to news that a the helicopter circled his house.

FOX 5 Atlanta reached out to local officials to independently verify his claim and is still awaiting a response. However, this would not be the first time the 22-year-old multi-millionaire has been the target of a hit.

In November 2022, Kai also streamed when he received a phone call that woke him up immediately, saying, “Emergency. Expedite. Come back right away.”

When he returned to his computer, he appeared to be upset.

“Six in the morning is crazy bro. Yeah beat bro,” he said, responding to his subscribers who were communicating with him via live chat. “I appreciate them being as calm as they can be, bro, but six in the morning is (sic) crazy. Y’all got it, bro. You win, bro.”

What is a knock call?

Spoofing is a type of hoax in which someone falsely reports a serious emergency, such as a bomb threat, murder, or hostage situation, and directs law enforcement or emergency services, especially a SWAT team, to a specific address. This is done to cause suffering or harm to the person at the given address who is unaware of the false report.

It is extremely dangerous and can result in property damage, injury or even death, as well as a waste of police resources.

Georgia Swatting Law

On 1 July 2024, Georgia Senate Bill 421 went into effect, increasing the penalty for the perpetrators of back calls and false alarms in the Peach State.

It is a legal requirement in the state of Georgia that the person behind a swatting call pay for any damages caused by their actions.

In Kai’s 2024 Marietta case, he claimed that Twitch banned his account in the middle of his stream.

About 14 minutes later, he posted again inviting his fans to come back, saying he was “unbanned.” It’s unclear how much money he’s making on the live stream or how much he may have lost while he was offline.

The new law made first offenses a felony if they target a home or place of worship. The measure also increased the criminal penalty for a second offense, making the minimum prison sentence five years instead of one. It also added harsher penalties for a third offense, which calls for a sentence of 10 to 15 years.
