Judge admonishes Rudy Giuliani after courtroom outburst

new york supreme court Judge Nicholas Moyne told the former New York City mayor on Wednesday Rudy Giuliani that he “deposes” him, during a virtual court hearing in Noelle Dunphy case, as Law & Crime reports.

Dunphy filed a lawsuit alleging Giuliani regularly sexually harassed her after he hired her to help develop his businesses from January 2019 to 2021. She says he made sexual comments about her body and sent a transcript of some of her alleged recordings of Giuliani. , in which she says he made sexual comments about her. Giuliani has denied the allegations, saying Dunphy was never employed and says the two had a consensual dating relationship.

The case returned to court Wednesday after lengthy delays following Giuliani’s bankruptcy proceedings. Dunphy is seeking a $10 million judgment in the case.

At one point during the wiretap, Giuliani said, “My reputation has been destroyed,” according to the Law & Crime report. There was more banter between the lawyers, Giuliani and the judge.

Newsweek reached out to Giuliani’s spokesman and Dunphy’s attorney, Justin Kelton, for comment by email Wednesday.

Giuliani accused Dunphy of “being a professional litigant in court to extort men,” adding that the suit “should be dismissed on grounds of unfairness,” Law & Crime reported.

The judge said, “I’m going to protect you from yourself. These are not legal arguments that you are making now,” the press reported.

Giuliani also said Dunphy recorded him without his knowledge, using the recordings as evidence in the case.

The case also details offensive and inappropriate comments Giuliani made about other people, including prominent female politicians who are former secretaries of state. Hillary Clintonformer President of the Chamber Nancy Pelosiand former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Moyne redacted several names, references and comments from the complaint that referred to people other than Dunphy or that the judge deemed irrelevant to the case at hand, according to Law & Crime.

The judge did not remove references to Giuliani’s alleged alcohol abuse noted in the complaint, deeming it relevant to the charges.
