Emergency services are responding to the scene of a serious accident south of Rotorua.

“Emergency services are in attendance at a serious accident in Broadlands which was reported shortly before 7.30am,” a police spokesman said.

“It is believed there could be serious injuries.”

Diversions are currently in place off Broadlands Road at Ohaaki Road and Vaile Road and are expected to remain in place for some time.
