Shelton man accused of killing kitten because it ‘annoyed’ him.

SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A Shelton man was arrested Friday after police say he killed a family member’s kitten after it pissed him off.

Krzystof Bakota, 47, was charged with first-degree manslaughter of an animal.

A family member told police she left her kitten in Bakota’s care while she was away. Bakota told her the kitten had gone missing and was later found dead in the backyard.

But Bakota admitted to the other family members that he killed the kitten because it annoyed him. According to police, he said he threw the kitten onto a table and then off the back deck.

An autopsy of the kitten revealed that it had multiple skull fractures with marked hemorrhage and blunt force trauma. His cause of death was determined to be trauma to the left body wall and pulmonary hemorrhage.

Police said it was considered “highly unlikely” the kitten was killed by another animal.

Bakota was held on $25,000 bail and was due to appear in Derby County Court on November 1.
