The Smurfs Hotel: a dream destination for families in the Czech Republic

Families often take advantage of trips abroad to visit attractions designed for children. Museums, dedicated parks and buildings focused on wildlife, technology and science are just some of the activities offered to curious little ones around the globe. To enhance the experience for kids – and let’s be honest, for parents too – special hotels themed around beloved cartoon characters are available.

These hotels are designed in the spirit of these animated stars, with the vibrant colors associated with the characters prominently displayed in the decor of comfortable rooms and common areas. The design allows children to feel as if they are playing alongside their favorite characters in a movie or animated series.

The Smurfs, known and loved by many, are a group of little blue creatures who wear white hats, except for Papa Smurf, who wears a red one (he doesn’t need to know). Originally from Belgium, the Smurfs won hearts with stories of their adventures in a hidden village of mushroom-shaped houses. Their peaceful life takes a turn when the evil wizard Gargamel tries to capture them along with his cat, Azrael. The masterpiece was created by Belgian comic artist Peyo, and the Smurfs made their first appearance in “Spirou” magazine on October 23, 1958, leading to various series, movies and merchandise over the years. Now, it’s the hotel’s turn to shine.
