Trump suggests sending Liz Cheney to war with ‘guns trained on her face’

On a Halloween night stop on Tucker Carlson’s national tour, Donald Trump joined Carlson on stage for an hour-and-a-half conversation that included many of his usual talking points — but also some striking remarks imagining- and Liz Cheney sent to war and shot. to.

After criticizing Cheney for regularly pushing for the United States to engage militarily abroad, Trump said he did not blame her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, “for sticking with his daughter.”

“But his daughter is a very stupid, very stupid individual,” Trump said of Liz Cheney, to laughter from the crowd. “He is a radical war hawk. Let’s put her in there with a shotgun, nine barrels shooting at her, okay? Let’s see how she feels about it – you know, when guns are pointed in her face.

“You know, they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, ‘Oh, let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy,'” Trump continued, in some surprisingly anti-war remarks. “But he is a bad person. I would have dates with a lot of people and she always wanted to go to war with people.”

Trump was led to the topic when Carlson asked Trump if he thought it was odd that Dick Cheney’s “repulsive daughter” Liz Cheney would support Harris and oppose him. Trump said he felt Cheney’s endorsement of Harris actually hurt his Democratic opponent.

“He’s a troubled person,” Trump began. “The reason she doesn’t like me is she wanted to stay in Iraq, she wants to – a tough person, people get killed everywhere – she’s very tough, isn’t she?” Trump said sarcastically. “It’s not the hard people.”

She also recalled that he fondly opposed her after she voted for him to be impeached, which led to her being soundly defeated while running for re-election.

“She lost for Congress by the largest margin in history,” Trump said, beaming. “There’s never been a member of Congress who lost by nearly 40 points, and the reason is that if they were ever in that situation, they would quit.”

“The reason he couldn’t stand me is that he always wanted to go to war with people,” Trump continued, before running into praise for peace. “I don’t want to go to war. She wanted to stay in Syria, we got her out. She wanted to stay in Iraq, we got her out. I mean, if it were up to her, we’d be in 50 different countries.”

Trump emphasized the danger of wars and the number of deaths they cause, before going into more detail about spending. He complained about modern wars that did not result in the United States taking over resources, such as oil, from those wars.

The Republican candidate argued that Iran and Iraq used to serve as checks on each other, fighting for territory — but that after the United States attacked Iraq, it gave Iran control of the region.

Trump also criticized Dick Cheney and a former member of the Bush and Trump administrations, John Bolton, for their enthusiasm for war.

“I’ve never been a Cheney fan. I’ve always been very critical,” Trump said, again returning to spending $9 trillion “bombing the hell out of the Middle East.”

“And what the hell did we get besides a lot of dead, including our own people?” Trump asked. “We have nothing.”

The conversation also included Trump specifically targeting both Hillary Clinton and, of course, Kamala Harris. He contrasted the pair, praising Clinton’s intelligence while continuing to argue that Harris is not an intelligent person.

“Hillary Clinton, who is a smart woman — a lot smarter than Kamala, but she doesn’t lie as much,” Trump said. “Hillary was a liar, a horrible scoundrel. But this one lies so much. And she is a low IQ person. He doesn’t even know he’s lying, I tell you. This is not what you want for your president.”

He continued, bringing in Joe Biden for an attack as well. “He is a person with a very low IQ. She’s dumb as a rock and you can’t have that, you can’t have that,” Trump said. “We love our country too much. You can’t have it. We’ve just been through four years, you can’t have any more – a country can only take so much.”

Trump has provided no evidence to support his insults about the intelligence of his rivals.
