Britt is furious that FEMA workers skipped hurricane victims with Trump signs

(WTVY) – U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) is demanding answers about a government employee who ordered FEMA workers helping after Hurricane Milton to skip homes with Donald Trump campaign signs in their yards.

“It is simply outrageous that any FEMA staff, let alone a supervisor, would condition aid to victims based on their political views,” Britt wrote in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. and Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell.

The incident took place in Florida.

A FEMA spokesman said in a statement that the agency is “deeply disturbed by the actions of this employee” and the incident is under investigation.

The agency did not identify the employee but said she had been removed from her role, the spokesman said.

“I appreciate that Administrator Criswell condemned these actions and fired the supervisor, but the American people need answers about how this happened and whether anyone else was complicit, as well as assurances that it will not happen again.” , Britt said.

The FEMA worker ordered workers to jump over about 20 homes with Trump signs.

The senator is the ranking member of the Homeland Security Appropriations Committee.
