What’s Hoda Kotb Doing After Leaving ‘Today’? How she enters the wellness space

  • In September, Hoda Kotb announced she was leaving “Today” after nearly three decades with NBC News.

  • Over the weekend, Hoda hosted a Making space event at Miraval Austin Resort and Spa.

  • Now, she looks forward to working in health and spending time with her children.

On almost every weekday morning since 2007, Hoda Kotb he got up at three in the morning to host Today at seven. And after he announced that he would be removing the from next year’s talk show, Hoda is looking forward to sleeping in — until 5:15

“I’ve already got my routine! I’ve got it planned out,” Hoda exclusively said Women’s Health while accompanying her Making space wellness event at the Miraval Austin Resort and Spa in Texas over the weekend. “I wake up at 5:15. I go to SoulCycle at 5:30—they have one in my town. I’ll do it by 6:30. I’ll get home. I’m going to feed my kids breakfast. I will take them to school Yeti mug full of coffee with heavy cream in it. I’m going home slowly.”

After Hoda gets home, she will work at her home office for a few hours before having lunch with friends.

And what work will that be, you might ask? Well, after her Making space event, she will remain the realm of wellness with a mysterious project.

“I’m going to be in this space, and it’s not fully formed,” she says. “There’s no flesh on the bones, but we’re working on some things that I think will be really interesting and fun. It’s about making wellness accessible to someone who’s never tried it.”

After years of escaping so-called “woo-woo” practices, Hoda dove deep into self-care. She starts every morning with almost an hour of breathing and meditation; she also works out three to four days a week, either with Platoon or playing tennis. (She has a gym at home, but prefers to work out with people, so she’s “in charge”). Since moving to the suburbs, he’s taken a lot more walks around town with her. daughters— Haley Joy, 7, and Hope Catherine, 4 — whom she calls “amazing.” And during the afternoon, Hoda prepares an hour – from 3 to 4 pm – for “me time”.

All of this combined, Hoda says, gives her the “energy and clarity” to take on the day.

“We think of spending time on ourselves or being selfish, and that’s a myth,” she says. “(That way) you’re a better mother, you’re a better partner, you’re a better wife, you’re a better friend.”

And after stepping back from TodayHoda is looking forward to meeting herself—without the work involved.

“If it’s not an alarm clock, when would you wake up? What’s your body’s normal rhythm and when does it want to wake up and go to sleep? I’d like to know that,” she says. “I’m so excited to be the mom that goes on the trips. I’m going to be the one taking my kids. I’m just excited about all of this stuff. It’s just a way of recalibrating life.”
