The Broncos plan to stop Lamar Jackson and the Ravens offense

DENVER – Sunday’s matchup between the Broncos and Ravens will be a battle of strength and power. The Raven’s offense ranks first in total yards, while the Broncos defense ranks 3rd in total defense. It will be a big challenge for Denver, a unit that has been playing well this season. How do you stop the combo of Lamar Jackson, a former MVP, and a 2,000-yard rusher in Derrick Henry?

“He’s an athlete, meaning he can rush and run like a running back, and he makes moves on you, he’s not going to slide. You just have to be ready for it and all 11 have to get around the ball,” cornerback Riley Moss said.

The Hard is trying to dump Lamar Jackson, the Broncos haven’t faced a dual-threat quarterback this season and Zach Wilson, who is on the Broncos’ roster, is trying to play that Lamar role on the scout team.

“Zach is a fantastic player, but it’s really hard to replicate what Lamar does,” Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper said.

“I don’t think people know that Zach has had a little bit of a shake on him, he’s got a little bit of movement. He works out for us,” defensive tackle Jordan Jackson said

“He’s not the fastest kid in the world, but he made some shakes and stuff. It helped us,” Moss said.

“He runs like a runner. His cutting ability is incredible and also the way the team prepares him to make plays is incredible. We try to give the defense the best look we can, but man is that a tough one to replicate,” quarterback Zach Wilson said.

Something will have to give on Sunday with an offense averaging 30 points per game and a defense giving up just 15 points per game.
