    Michigan State Police arrest man in Monroe County stabbing

    Michigan State Police have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing a woman in Monroe County, officials said.

    MSP Monroe Post officers spoke with the victim, a 59-year-old Monroe woman, after she was sent to Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, deputies said in a news release.

    Investigators determined the critically injured woman was in a domestic violence situation and interviewed the suspect, identified as a 37-year-old Monroe man, according to the statement.

    Police also developed probable cause for a search warrant at the suspect’s home, where the stabbing occurred.

    Officials arrested the man for assault with intent to kill and booked him into the Monroe County Jail, according to the release.

    The woman remains hospitalized in stable condition.

    The incident comes after a number of other stabbings in the region.

    Taylor Police custody a suspect in a fatal stabbing Saturday.

    A 13-year-old girl was recently CHARGED in connection with the alleged stabbing of her 7-year-old sister in the city.

    He was a 17-year-old CHARGED for allegedly fatally stabbing a 64-year-old Detroit man on Sept. 29.
