Govinda’s son Yashvardhan gives update on actor’s health after accidental shooting: “1-2 hafto me dance bhi karna…”

Bollywood icon and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was rushed to Critique Hospital in Juhu on October 1, 2024 after an accidental misfire of his licensed firearm caused an injury to his leg. After his discharge, Govinda’s son Yashvardhan said his father’s spirits are high and shared on a lighter note that he might be back on his feet and dancing very soon.

Yashvardhan, stepping out for a Diwali party in Mumbai, delighted fans with an update on Govindahis recovery. He shared that the actor’s stitches have been removed and he is doing well. He said, “Badiya, badiya. Much better hai, stitches nikal gaye hai, koi tension nahi hai” (He is great, he is great. He is much better now, the stitches have been removed, so there is no tension) .

With a cheerful smile, Yashvardhan added, “Mast, ab ek do hafto mein dance bhi karna chalu kar lenge” (He will start dancing in a few weeks).

As reported by Indian Express, Govinda was on his way to Kolkata when an unexpected accident occurred. His manager Shashi Sinha shared the details of the incident and confirmed that Govinda is now in a stable condition.

While placing his licensed revolver in a cabinet, the gun slipped, resulting in an accidental discharge. The bullet hit Govinda below the left knee, though it was quickly removed. Shashi confirmed that Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja was with him at the hospital, saying she was “interacting with everyone and doing well”.

Tina said her father underwent surgery to remove the bullet and will remain in the ICU for observation. Doctors would reassess his condition in a day. Meanwhile, Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja, who was away on a trip, promptly returned to stay with him.

The legendary ’90s sensation, renowned for his impeccable comedic timing and electrifying dance moves, made a striking return to the political arena in March. In a bold move just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Govinda joined forces with the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde.

Surrounded by the energy of the Maharashtra chief minister, Govinda expressed his motivation for the alliance, saying he sees the party as “clean” – a refreshing choice in the often turbulent world of politics.
