“I was at the back of my shop and I heard the door slam so I looked at the camera and saw a man trying to get a tray of eclairs,” he said. I rushed out, but his friend saw me and warned him. I managed to catch the man by the collar of his jacket, but then he dropped the tray.

“I was so angry, I told them that if I ever catch them doing it again, the result will be much worse. One of the boys then tried to pick up the eclairs from the floor but I stepped on them as I didn’t want them. behavior to be rewarded.

“They were shocked that we caught them. I understand why people are afraid to confront these guys because they might have a knife and being stabbed or beaten.

“But in my culture in Turkey, the neighborhood used to deal with these people and they didn’t anymore. I’m not fear of them because I love my business and would put myself in harm’s way to protect it.”

In the video, Can is seen sprinting towards the door as the two men leave; his dog Figo tries to follow him, but he is in the lead at the time. The owner of the store also stated that the neighborhood was affected by problems by the same group of people who were repeatedly reported to the police.

In recent months, he claims the Scotmid pub, a neighboring cafe and a pharmacy have all been victims shoplifting and antisocial behavior.

“It’s not the first time this has happened, it’s gotten out of control in the area,” Can said. “We had a couple of guys come and try grab my tablet and some shortcakes.

“On another occasion, I had to THROW a man outside and started throwing rocks and stones at me, smashing my lemonade stand. I also had to spend hundreds of pounds repairing my shop window after it was broken into.

“This group comes in and tries to take everything they can get their hands on. I reported these people to police several times but nothing seems to be done.

“I think businesses feel a bit left out. The whole town seems to have a problem now and I’m sick of it vandalismthefts and robberies.

“I spoke to my MSP and he said he would try to get more patrols but unfortunately police must mark this area as a priority. So we have to keep complaining for them to take us seriously.

“Right now I’m feeling fed up and wondering if my life would be easier if I went back to being a professional chef. But you can’t let something like that get you down. Finally these people a lesson must be taught.”

The incident took place on Monday, October 28, around 6:02 p.m. Police Scotland has not yet been contacted about the alleged disturbance.
