According to a report by Fox Newsaccording to the analysis released just a week before the election, Harris enjoyed 78 percent positive coverage since July, while Trump faced 85 percent negative coverage on those networks.

“The coverage gap between the two candidates is much larger than in 2016, when both Trump and then-challenger Hillary Clinton received mostly negative coverage (91% negative for Trump, compared to 79% negative for Clinton)”, according to MRC analysts. , the report stated.

MRC reported that ABC, CBS and NBC devoted more than 200 minutes of air time focusing mainly on negative coverage of the controversies surrounding Trump, while often downplaying or ignoring the issues surrounding Harris. This includes allegations of plagiarism and allegations involving her husband, Doug Emhoff, a Fox News the report stated.

Analysts examined more than 600 segments aired on ABC, CBS and NBC about the presidential race, from the day President Biden suspended his candidacy in late July through October 25. After weeks of favorable coverage for Harris as the Democratic nominee, MRC Analysts noted a change in tone from the three networks following the Harris-Trump debate in September.

President Biden was the presumptive Democratic nominee until July, when his poor performance in the debates against former President Trump raised concerns about his age, prompting him to withdraw from the race. He endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, who secured the support needed to become the party’s nominee.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, with Harris facing Trump. Trump is seeking a return to the White House after a controversial exit, while Harris aims to make history as the first female president.

A recent poll by the New York Times and Siena College indicates that Harris and Trump are tied at 48 percent in the popular vote, remaining neck and neck despite the tumultuous three months in US political history.
