High grass/sedge fire threat due to dry conditions, strong winds

(KFVS) – We will have a few warm and windy days ahead of a cold front on Thursday.

Despite the slow rise in dew points, dry and windy conditions will increase the grass fire/blight threat.

The wind will blow in gusts from the south.

Today will be very warm with highs in the low to mid 80s.

Wednesday also looks very warm and windy.

A cold front will move into the Heartland late Wednesday into early Thursday.

Moderate, general precipitation is likely as a band of showers and a thunderstorm may develop.

The severe storm threat looks minimal, but maybe some thunder and lightning.

Rain should push east during the afternoon hours with light and cooler conditions trickling through Halloween night.

The weekend looks mostly mild and dry, but there could be a few showers Saturday night into Sunday across our western counties.

There is a better chance of rain early next week.
