CHICAGO – A suspect has been arrested after two men were shot as they walked past Loyola University Chicago Monday afternoon.

Chicago police said three men, ages 28, 24 and an unknown age, were walking in the 1200 block of West Loyola Avenue just after 2 p.m. when another man approached and began arguing with them. The man then pulled out a gun and fired at the three men.

The 28-year-old was shot in the right hand and taken to St. Francis; the 24-year-old was shot in the right arm and taken to St. Francis in good condition; the man, whose age is unknown, was not hit by gunfire and refused medical attention, according to investigators.

Police said the suspect was arrested in the 6400 block of North Sheridan Road. A weapon was also recovered at the scene.

Area Three detectives are continuing the investigation.
