Suspect accused of robbing Walgreens in warrant scheme

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Lafayette Police investigators need the public’s help identifying a person charged with robbery in connection with a $3,000 money order that was only half paid.

Police said the person in the photo is charged with simple robbery.

According to a press release, the suspect paid for a $3,000 warrant. The suspect then allegedly took the money from the victim after the amount was verified, folded several bills under the stack and hid $1,600 of the $3,000 in her purse.

“The subject left the scene with the $3,000 money order after only paying $1,400 for it,” police said in the news release.

If you know the suspect’s identity, contact Lafayette Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS (8477) or by downloading the P3 Tips mobile app or dialing **TIPS (**8477) on your mobile device. All callers remain anonymous.
