Kamala Harris says Trump doesn’t care about everyday people in a chat on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast

Vice President Kamala Harris warned voters that Trump doesn’t care about them chat with former football star Shannon Sharpe which aired on his popular podcast on Monday.

“Don’t think you’re in Donald Trump’s club. You’re not, Harris said. “He won’t think of you. Do you think he’s having you over for dinner?

The Democratic presidential candidate added that Trump is only focused on himself and his rich friends, not black people.

“Do you think when he’s with his friends, his billionaire friends, he’s thinking about what we need to do to address, for example, my work (on black men’s health)?” Harris asked.

“Being president of the United States is about finding common ground, building consensus, lifting up the American people instead of trying to bring people down all the time. … Does anyone think Donald Trump thinks this way?”

Harris too discussed her childhood, college years and pioneering career in public service in the hour-long meeting with Sharpe, whose Club Shay Shay podcast usually features sips of high-end liquor.

She gushed about the thrill of hearing Stevie Wonder sing “Happy Birthday” her and told stories about the people who shaped her upbringing in a single-mother household in Oakland, California.

Asked what she would tell her 18-year-old self, Harris offered a piece of advice she says she regularly gives to young people: Don’t let anyone hold you back because you’re the first person to do something.

“I don’t eat breakfast,” she said (after saying she actually goes for an omelette with spinach and chicken sausage with apples). “I can’t hear no.”

Sharpe’s interview, whose the YouTuber’s 3.6 million subscriber audience is predominantly malewas Harris’ latest effort to reach diverse groups of voters through non-traditional methods.

It comes after Trump made arambitious three-hour interview with Joe Rogan on his podcast, which has an even larger audience of younger white men.

Both candidates are canvassing voters wherever they can as the days tick by the election lit next Tuesday.
