German sexual health brand Billy Boy has launched a new technological solution that aims to keep intimate moments truly private.

Called “Camdom” and dubbed the “digital condom,” the app was developed to prevent unauthorized recordings by disabling smartphone cameras and microphones during intimate moments.

This innovation is part of a growing trend to combat pornography with a vengeance and protect sensitive data in an increasingly digital world.

“German condom brand Billy Boy and Innocean Berlin launch the Camdom app: a first-of-its-kind digital condom that protects against the recording of non-consensual content during sex by blocking mobile devices,” Billy Boy said in a statement.

It added: “Taking photos, videos or audio without consent with a smartphone has never been easier, leading to an alarming situation among teenagers around the world: once content is leaked, it spreads like a virus, which which makes it impossible to track – causing emotional distress, depression, job loss and even suicidal thoughts among victims. ”

Launched in 30 countries, Camdom uses Bluetooth technology to block recording functions on nearby smartphones to ensure intimate moments remain private.

Users activate the app with a quick swipe of a virtual button that will trigger a protective barrier on their devices.

If someone tries to bypass the restrictions, Camdom will immediately detect the breach and send an alarm to alert users, adding an extra layer of security.

Designed for group privacy, the app can simultaneously block multiple devices within its Bluetooth range.

“Before having sex, users place their smartphones next to each other and swipe down a virtual button to block all cameras and microphones,” the company said, adding: “If a user tries to sneak out, an alarm signals a potential shortage threat. – consensual registration.
