Macomb County woman files $60 million lawsuit against Warren police over crash injuries

A Macomb County woman has filed a $60 million lawsuit against the city of Warren after she was hit by a car being chased by Warren police.

Brittny Turner of Centerline filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the city of Warren and its police department Friday, nearly five months after her car was hit June 8.

According to the lawsuit, Turner was driving west on 8 Mile in Warren when police followed a car without its lights or sirens on. The lawsuit claims it created “unsafe conditions for motorists” and that she was eventually struck by the suspect’s vehicle.

The lawsuit says Turner suffered life-threatening injuries and was “disfigured” because one side of her hip is now permanently higher than the other. He has since undergone multiple surgeries and says he is unable to perform daily tasks independently.

Her car was also destroyed in the impact.

The complaint was filed by Gantt Legal Advocacy and can be read below.

FOX 2 reached out to Warren Police for comment and said they had not officially received the complaint and would not be able to comment as of Friday afternoon.

This comes after a similar incident in which two men were killed after being hit by Warren police car going 100 mph with no lights or sirens on september 30th.
