The new Minister of Women’s Affairs, Honorable Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has a proven track record of service, integrity and most importantly, a very compassionate and empathetic woman who feels the pain of others and acts to relieve them.

She embodies a harmonious blend of intelligence, elegance and compassion, making her an engaging and inspiring person.

Her humility, modesty and pace of work endear her to those who met her.

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim is a sophisticated woman who exudes sophistication, elegance and poise. She is intelligent and perceptive, engaging, poised under pressure, calm, with ease distinguishable compound behavior.

The activities and growth trajectory of the Minister since her appointment as Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) where she implemented and administered the provisions of the NAPTIP Act have been highly commendable.

During her short tenure, she coordinated and enforced all other laws on human trafficking and related crimes.

It has adopted effective measures to prevent and eradicate human trafficking and related crimes and has made a lot of progress during that period.

Ibrahim Sulaiman intensified her pardon as the then president redeployed her as the Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).

NCFRMI is a protection and humanitarian body dedicated to ensuring that the rights of persons of interest are always respected.

She has successfully advised the federal government on policy matters relating to refugees, migrants and internally displaced persons;

It protected and assisted PID and sought the collaboration of other MDAs for such protection and assistance.

Hon Imaan coordinated matters related to migration, protected migrants and their families, including other citizens resident in Nigeria, in accordance with the provisions of international conventions, protocols and treaties that guide the protection of the rights and promotion of the welfare of migrants;

Through the Advisory Committee, she and her team provided a platform for uniform migration management for the formulation, review and implementation of a national policy on migration and development and worked to eliminate irregular migration and encourage orderly and regular migration of Nigerians.

In collaboration with relevant government agencies, she ensured compliance with the provisions of the Kampala Convention; assisted state governments in creating and maintaining an up-to-date register of all IDPs within their jurisdiction and many other achievements.

The Minister is an articulate and expressive individual, very open-minded and curious, who embraces new ideas and experiences, with the ability to navigate challenges gracefully.

Her love and compassion for the people became more manifest ahead of the 2023 general elections where she campaigned vigorously for the APC and many other interventions in her home state of Nasarawa which eventually led to her appointment as a minister of state , police business.

At her state level, the minister has provided scholarship opportunities to indigenes of the state for local and international postgraduate and postgraduate studies, created employment opportunities for women and youth in federal government ministries, departments and agencies.

She has supported the enrollment of indigenes from Nasarawa State into the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil in Kano State, she has empowered over 1000 women and youths in acquiring skills in Nasarawa State for self reliance.

Other recent achievements in her policy leadership role as Minister of State for Police Affairs include spearheading an ambitious police reform program ‘Renewed Hope’ to strengthen internal security in Nigeria.

Other specific achievements included

supporting an accelerated delivery of the National Crime Data Fusion Center (NCDFC) for the Nigeria Police Force, which is at an advanced stage of completion, supporting a strategic shift towards community policing to improve the overall safety and security of communities, engagement ensured in terms of technical assistance and funding from different partners at local and international level for the consolidation of FNP.

And also launched the Young and Secure Project in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to build trust and promote the relationship between the youth and the Police.
