A suspect in a robbery of a Dairy Queen on North Avenue is being sought by the Grand Junction Police Department.

On Saturday at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers from the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the Dairy Queen at 709 North Avenue for a report of a possible robbery.

According to police, a man broke into the freezer, stole items and confronted an employee with a knife. They were not injured and the suspect then left in a red Jeep Cherokee.

Later Saturday night at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers stopped a red Jeep Cherokee matching the description of the robbery vehicle in the area of ​​North Avenue and 10th Street. Officers arrested the passenger on unrelated warrants. According to police, the suspect is still at large.

The initial investigation has determined that this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time.
