SUMMARY: Mizzou keeps the faith despite suffering its second loss of the season

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (KMIZ)

Wracked by injuries, Mizzou’s trip to Tuscaloosa featured a mistake-filled performance that cost the Tigers their second loss of the 2024 season. Despite trailing by just six points with less than five minutes left in the halftime, MU committed three turnovers that turned the tide. Mizzou allowed Alabama 21 points and 319 total yards in the second half alone, ending the night with the program’s first loss of the Eli Drinkwitz era. Although the result was frustrating, MU is focused on staying together and believing in success this season.

“I told them before the game, no matter what happened, I wasn’t going to be prouder. I loved them, right, and I lied to them. I was proud of them. I was prouder of them afterwards . the way they faced adversity,” Drinkwitz said. “There’s a lot of pride and a lot of fight in that locker room, and we’re all disappointed with the result. We all came in with a plan to win and it just wasn’t our day today. We won’t do that. divide yourselves. We will not point fingers. We will come back this week and finish this stretch.

“College football is crazy these days with the playoffs. We’re down two and we’ve got a lot to go. We’ve got everything we want ahead of us, so I guarantee every guy in the locker room is going to keep their heads up and come to practice next week to give it my all,” Mizzou quarterback Drew Pyne said. “We’re going to come back swinging.”
