Working with Matthews-Kane showed why he deserves to be chosen as a representative. (Letter)

My name is Jeffrey Chin. I am a clinical social worker and nonprofit director with over 30 years of experience serving children and families of all backgrounds, experiences, and histories. In addition, I currently serve as an officer in the US Navy Reserve, including deployment experience in Afghanistan in 2018 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Finally, I am currently an adjunct professor at Boston University’s School of Social Work, where I have taught graduate school for over 4 years.

I am writing to convey my highest recommendation and endorsement of Ms. Bridget Matthews-Kane in her run for State Representative. Bridget and I have worked together over the past two years to establish a number of programs, events and activities to serve military families in the western Massachusetts area, including Westfield and the surrounding communities. Bridget, in her capacity as a military wife, has been nothing short of phenomenal in her efforts to bring engaging activities to the hundreds of military families associated with this region (including Westover Air Force/Reserve Base, Barnes Air National Guard Base, and many veteran families who live in the area).

Through her leadership, Bridget was able to recruit, hire and support a board of community leaders, local military spouses, military leaders and service providers relevant to families living in the area. I was invited to join this board and witnessed the power of Bridget’s leadership. The board was made up of people with different backgrounds and personalities, and Bridget was able to engage and lead them to successfully execute a multitude of programs and activities that serve local families. Her focus on the overall well-being of families has been prominent throughout her work with this board.
