Emmerdalehis Nicholas King (Nicola Wheeler) made a risky and rather unexpected move to gain control in the war against tome (James Chase), moving back into her house.

The former adviser, as viewers know, made the difficult decision move out of Victoria Cottage – where he lived Jimmy (Nick Miles) for years – to protect her children from bully Tom.

Tom is being investigated for the way he treated his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) throughout their marriage, with Jimmy feisty believing his nephew to be innocent.

Nicholas, however, he knows very well that Tom is guiltyafter seeing what he’s capable of firsthand when he terrorized her son Carl Holliday (Charlie Joyce) about the whereabouts of his tablet, which housed crucial evidence that confirmed his guilt.

With Angelica (Rebecca Bakes) out of the safe orphanage and struggling to settle again, Nicola finally decided to put her family first as she told Jimmy she was moving out and not will move back until Tom leaves.

Jimmy found himself torn about the situation, desperately wanting to be there for Angel but also refusing to kick Tom out.

With Cain (Jeff Hordley) after attacking Tom earlier this week, Jimmy decided to defend his nephew, confronting tough man Cain, who attacked and attacked him.

Nicola was horrified when she laid eyes on Jimmy’s bruises – and equally upset that he hadn’t told her what had happened.

Feeling guilty about not being there, she decided she would move back to Victoria Cottage – although she made it clear that nothing had changed as far as Tom was concerned.

Tom was quick to make light of Nicola’s return, labeling them all “one big happy family”, but Nicola reiterated her thoughts on him, telling the abuser she felt “bad” just looking at him.

But Tom didn’t struggle, trying to get inside her head as he told her with a sly grin that “blood is much thicker than water” as far as Jimmy was concerned.

Nicola was left with thoughts. Her return didn’t make Tom uneasy—if anything, it seemed to have the opposite effect.

But if there’s one thing we know about Nicola, it’s that she’s relentless and won’t stop until she gets what she wants – and that’s Tom in their lives for good.
