MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) – An 18-year-old man has admitted to causing a crash that killed a 14-year-old boy.

Rebecca Kumar pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular assault for incident that took place in March.

Investigators said Kumar was driving nearly 103 miles per hour on Verity Parkway near Hughes when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. Laith Masri, a 14-year-old freshman from Lakota, died in the crash. Three other teenagers who were in the vehicle sustained injuries.

Kumar faces up to seven and a half years in prison. Her sentencing is scheduled for January.
