A suspect has been named after a man allegedly assaulted a police officer. Adam Harvey, 37, of no fixed address, was charged with violent disorder; burglary and assault of an emergency worker in connection with incidents in Liverpool city centre on August 3.

He allegedly threw a missile at an officer’s head, causing injuries; releasing fire extinguishers to members of the public; and stealing items from a store on Church Street. Harvey was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 21 November.

Currently, 151 arrests have been made, of which 106 have been charged and 81 people have been sentenced to 168 years and one month. Anyone with information that could assist the ongoing police investigation is asked to contact them via the public portal (mipp.police.uk) or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
