Muncy woman charged by state police with destroying evidence | News, Sports, Jobs

Nikki Burrows, 42, of 110 Pepper St., Muncy, was arrested on charges of destruction of evidence and misdemeanor tampering with physical evidence following an incident in late September, according to state police.

On Sept. 27, state police searched for surveillance video that could lead them to possible suspects in two cases — one involving a stolen car and the other an attempted burglary at a gun shop on John Brady Drive in the Muncy area .

Investigators saw that Burrows had a Ring video surveillance system outside her home and believed it might contain video that could help them in their investigation. The vehicle was stolen from one of Burrow’s neighbors, police said.

When interviewed on September 28 by a criminal investigator about the possibility of obtaining and viewing any surveillance videos that may contain images that were recorded outside her home on September 27, Burrows claimed that such images would not be available because her minor daughter would have been reported. “off” video system that night, court documents said.

However, through their investigation, police allege that Burrows was untruthful in her statements and that she deleted the surveillance videos from the Ring system after the conversation with the criminal investigator.

Burrows, who was arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, waived her preliminary hearing last week and is free on $25,000 bail.

Through other evidence they obtained, state police arrested a Williamsport man who was allegedly involved in both the carjacking and the attempted burglary.

Khanif Carter, 18, of 1002 Baldwin St., waived a preliminary hearing involving his charges and remains behind bars in the Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
