NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. (KOLO) – Four people have been arrested in Nevada County in connection with the burglary of a convenience store.

The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office says that in the early morning hours of Monday, a deputy on routine patrol in the area of ​​Combie Road and Highway 49 noticed people acting out of character outside a store.

The deputy began looking at them and noted that one appeared to be a security guard. A short time later, a witness reported that the store had been broken into. As the four fled the scene, the deputy gave chase and initiated a traffic stop.

An investigation revealed a large amount of possibly stolen property, including new, unopened cosmetics, additional unopened cosmetics, checks and open mail not addressed to any of the four suspects, approximately 50 credit cards, debit cards, permits from driving and other assorted cards, none. of which matched the names of the occupants and suspected methamphetamine.

The following people were subsequently arrested:

  • Leitica Monique Webber-Gonzales of Elk Grove charged with identity theft, possession of illegal checks and conspiracy to commit crimes
  • Shawn Richard Paul Webber of Colfax charged with identity theft, possession of illegal checks, conspiracy to commit felonies and parole violation
  • Christine Haralampieva of Lincoln charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit murder
  • Roger Andrew Hazen of Sacramento charged with shoplifting, conspiracy to commit murder and on a warrant for failure to appear.
