SPRINGWATER TWP. — A Barrie man is facing impairment charges following a one-vehicle crash on Snow Valley Road Monday night.

Huronia West OPP officers responded to the scene west of Bayfield Street North shortly before 6:00 pm on November 18 and launched an impaired driving investigation.

Zachary West, 26, of Barrie, was charged with driving while impaired (alcohol and drugs), operating while impaired (blood alcohol concentration over 80) and dangerous driving a motor vehicle.

He was also charged under the Road Traffic Act with being a novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero.

The accused is due to appear in court at a later date.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
