Man accused in Blue Route shooting pleads “no contest”

A Wayne man pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges in a alleged road rage shooting on Interstate 476 in March involving another driver and his 8-year-old son.

Christopher M. Foley, 63, entered open “no contest” pleas to felony charges of aggravated assault, attempted serious bodily injury and firearms not to be carried without a license before Judge Richard Cappelli .

Additional charges, including aggravated battery on a person under 13, criminal mischief, tampering with evidence, possession of an instrument of crime and summary traffic offenses were dismissed under the plea prepared by Assistant District Attorney Sean McNabb and attorney James Cunilio.

Pennsylvania State Police previously said Foley was driving his Honda Civic in the northbound lanes around 12:30 a.m. on March 1 when he allegedly pulled into another vehicle driven by a 41-year-old man, who had he his 8 year old son. .

The two vehicles collided near milepost 12 in Radnor Township, snarling traffic for several hours as the highway was closed for an investigation.

None of the alleged victims were injured when troopers arrived. Foley was taken to Paoli Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said.

Foley previously waived a preliminary hearing on all charges and remains in custody at the Concord County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Cappelli set a sentencing date of Jan. 29, pending a presentence investigation and psychological evaluation.
