Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin urged the US House to release an unpublished ethics report on alleged sexual misconduct involving a 17-year-old girl by Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general.

Speaking on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, Mullin said it was “absolutely” necessary for him and his fellow senators to see the report as they consider Gaetz’s nomination, echoing a growing number of Republican senators.

“This should certainly be a part of our decision-making,” Mullin said. However, the Oklahoma senator hesitated whether the report should be made public.

Trump’s appointment of Gaetz caused a sensation in Washington.

Gaetz was under o ongoing ethics investigation in the House of Representatives on charges of sexual misconduct, illegal drug use and misuse of campaign funds.

He abruptly resigned last week, ending the investigation.

Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing.
