Nigel Farage is expected to launch a private prosecution against two men involved a brawl at Manchester airport in July, leading to protests against police brutality.

Britain’s reform leader will make the announcement tomorrow after describing the failure to prosecute those involved as an example of “two-tier policing”.

Speaking on a podcastsFarage compared the fast-tracking of those involved in race riots to the cause summer to the lack of criminal charges against the men involved in the incident at Manchester Airport.

“If that’s not two-tiered policing and two-tiered justice under Keir, I don’t know what is,” he said.

The incident took place over the summer, in which a partial video shared online showed a police officer brutally assaulting 19-year-old Fahir Muhammed Amas during an attempt to arrest his brother, Amad.

Tensions rose further when additional footage revealed that the three officers were themselves assaulted shortly before the video was shot, which left one female officer with a broken nose and another officer left slumped on the floor.

The family’s lawyer later argued the boy’s mother had been hit in the face and racially abused by an officer before the cameras rolled, which served as the inciting incident.

Four months later, with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) apparently nowhere near announcing charges against the brothers, Mr Farage hired two lawyers to bring them a case.

A source close to Mr Farage said: “It is now November and no charges have been laid – yet those on the right of argument who said nasty things on social media and took to the streets found themselves in jail almost instantly. We have a two-tier justice system in this country.”

Speaking on a podcast hosted by ex-Mumford & Sons guitarist Winston Marshall, he expanded on his frequent claims of “two-tier policing” and told the host: “What happened to the Manchester attackers in July, before Southport ?

“We have a violent fight in Manchester airport, the police are violently attacked, a policewoman has her nose broken. The police then take control of the situation.

A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “We are considering material and providing advice in relation to a number of alleged offenses at Manchester Airport in July this year.

“We are working with Greater Manchester Police and the Independent Police Conduct Office as their inquiries continue.”

The CPS has the power to prevent a private prosecution by taking it over and ending it – but such a move would be considered highly controversial in this case.
