Agartala: A male teacher on Saturday faced public flak over allegations of abusing girl students at Krishnapur High School in West Tripura’s Khowai district.
The Directorate of Secondary Education promptly requested reports from both the District Education Officer and the Principal regarding the incident. The teacher was instructed to remain at the station until further notice.
During school hours, several teenage girls wielding brooms chased the teacher around the campus, and strangers later joined the chase. The police arrested the accused IT teacher. According to the residents of the area, the teacher allegedly abused three female students and made inappropriate remarks.
The parents rushed to the school premises after learning about the incident from their children and attacked the teacher, identified as Bipul Ghosh.
He was forcibly removed from the staff room and severely beaten. The crowd put a garland of shoes around his neck.
