Projected lineup: Nov. 16 vs. Ottawa

RALEIGH, NC – Spencer Martin is expected to make his second NHL start of the season when the Carolina Hurricanes host the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Martin is forced into action with Frederik Andersen (lower body injury) out long-term and Pyotr Kochetkov (unspecified injury) hurt Wednesday in Utah. Rod Brind’Amour said after the skate that the team could have gone with Kochetkov tonight if needed, but is taking a cautious approach.

Carolina remembered the goalkeeper Yaniv Peret late Friday, and the second-year option could back up Martin tonight.

Ahead of the Canes’ crease, the group is set to dress the same 18 skaters they’ve rolled with in the past two games.

Seth Jarvis (upper body injury) is not expected to play this weekend. The team hopes to see him back in practice at some point next week.

Martin Necas will look to add to the Canes record as he has an 11 point streak going into tonight’s contest. With 22 points during the run, he’s tied for the most points by an NHL skater since Oct. 22, tied with Kirill Kaprizov and Nathan MacKinnon.
