Warrant Issued Against Plaintiff In Saratoga BLM Co-Founder Case | News

SCHENECTADY — An arrest warrant has been issued for the man who filed a criminal complaint against Saratoga Black Lives Matter co-founder Lexis Figuereo, according to the judge overseeing Figuereo’s case.

Figuereo, who was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, appeared in Schenectady City Court Friday afternoon before Judge Kate McGuirl. Figuereo is accused of pointing an AR-15-style weapon at Waldo Evora on Oct. 24 outside a Schenectady home.

During the conference, McGuirl acknowledged that Evora now has a warrant out for his arrest for criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment.

On Nov. 1, Figuereo’s partner, Gabrielle Elliott, said Evora, who is her landlord, got into an altercation with Figuereo and her on Oct. 24 after she claims he tried to evict her illegally. During that altercation, she said, Evora broke his arm and choked Figuereo.

“Right now we’re waiting on the rest of the prosecutor’s discovery,” said Ave Agree, Figuereo’s attorney. “We have had some preliminary negotiations … about how to resolve this matter, particularly in light of the allegations against Mr. Evora. So we hope that this will come to a speedy resolution and a fair resolution and that we will be able to dismiss this matter.”

Figuereo, who declined to comment outside court, is scheduled to reappear in court in December.
