Phoenix-based casual pizza place Fired Pie files for bankruptcy

PHOENIX (AZ Family) — A Phoenix-based casual pizza company fell on hard times and filed for bankruptcy.

Fired Pie filed for Chapter 11 protection in federal court on Wednesday, hoping to restructure its business.

According to court documents, the parent company, NWFI LLC, lists assets of up to $1 million but liabilities of up to $10 million.

Some of the companies owed money are Shamrock Foods, Scottsdale Fashion Square and Arrowhead Towne Center, according to court documents.

The pizza chain has been around since 2013 and apparently has 14 locations open in the Valley. Its location in Ahwatukee recently closed.

The company owns all locations and there are no franchises.

As of 2021, Fired Pie had 21 locations throughout Arizona, but has struggled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and oversaturation of the market with places like Mod Pizza and Blaze.
