Lizzo dresses up as an eponymous weight loss drug for Halloween

Lizzo doesn’t shy away from jokes about her health journey.

For this year’s Halloween, the “Truth Hurts” singer shared a series of photos Instagram dressed as a slimming drug named Lizzo, making fun of a joke from an episode of “South Park” at the beginning of this year.

“Haldare LizzOzempic,” Lizzo captioned the post, adding a sunglasses emoji.

In the first slide of the carousel, Lizzo is in full costume and eating a slice of pizza while sitting next to someone dressed as the “South Park” character Eric Cartman.

In May, an episode of the popular cartoon comedy joked about the current trend around diet pills. In the show, Eric is prescribed the drug Lizzo, which has been called “a new obesity drug for those of us who can’t afford Ozempic and Mounjaro.”

In a later one Instagram reelLizzo danced in costume with a cutout of Eric to the sound of the “South Park” commercial. She captioned the post, “Oh, oh, oh… it’s Lizzo b—-,” referring to the Ozempic ads.

Lizzo shared her own fake drug ad Instagram which read, “Do you need self-love? Try Lizzo! Lose the blame. Gain confidence.”

The ad said side effects include “a smile on your face and a pep in your step.”

The singer smiled like a can of Lizzo, which was called a diet suppressant and included a fake approval from the US Food and Drug Administration. The suit also had a yellow measuring tape that wrapped around her waist.

“Ok Halloween… you can start now,” she captioned the post with the winking emoji.

Lizzo said The New York Times earlier this year that she’s on a “natural weight loss journey,” which has led her to be “methodical, losing weight very slowly.”

In September, the singer applauded rumors that she had taken a diet pill during her health journey.

“When you finally get ozempic charges after 5 months of weight training and a calorie deficit,” Lizzo wrote in a short selfie video.

Over the years, Lizzo shared some insights about her weight loss experiencefrom exercises to recipes. Although she was celebrated for promoting body positivityshe was honest about the reality of the movement in today’s world.

“The idea of body positivity has been removed from the outdated conception. It evolved into body neutrality,” Lizzo told The New York Times.

“I’m not going to lie and say I love my body every day,” she continued. “The bottom line is that how you feel about your body changes every day. There are days when I love my body and days when I don’t feel completely positive.”
