A man has been charged with two offences in a fatal accident which happened in northern Colombia in May.

Calvin Fleming, of Columbia, was charged Friday with felony driving while intoxicated and driving without a license in a crash that killed Terry L. Walker, 64. A bail application was made on Friday.

According to the probable cause statement, Fleming was driving a 2011 Ford Escape northbound on Range Line Street and Walker was driving a moped southbound in the northbound lanes. The Ford hit the moped, Walker was thrown from the vehicle and died from his injuries, police wrote.

Fleming gave police a breath test and his blood alcohol content was 0.227, nearly three times the legal limit to drive, the release said.

Police also obtained a search warrant for a blood sample, and Fleming’s BAC was recorded at .245, the release said. Court documents say Fleming also tested positive for fentanyl and benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine.
