Alabama Rescue Squad Association Recognizes Representative Moore as “Legislator of the Year”

In recognition of his commitment to public safety, the Alabama Rescue Squad Association named Representative Parker Moore “Legislator of the Year” for 2024. This honor highlights Moore’s contributions to improving public safety and supporting emergency services in Alabama.

“I am humbled by the honor of being named Legislator of the Year by the Alabama Association of Rescue Squads,” Moore said. “Serving in the Alabama Legislature is one of the greatest privileges of my life, and this award only strengthens my resolve to continue working hard on behalf of the people I represent. I am committed to making meaningful progress on the issues that matter most to our communities and will continue to advocate for solutions that improve lives and strengthen our state.”

One of Moore’s recent legislative accomplishments was passage of HB46 during the 2024 regular session in partnership with state Sen. Arthur Orr. This bill provides Alabama rescue squads with permanent license plate tags, providing a new stream of financial support for essential life-saving equipment and additional personnel. HB46 was signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey on May 9, 2024.

“Statewide public safety is an issue that I have worked diligently to improve since I was elected,” noted Moore. “I am proud to say that we, as a legislative body, have and are delivering on this important topic every session. The people of House District 4, and everyone in our great state, deserve nothing less than a safe place to call home.”

Representative Moore represents House District 4, which covers parts of Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties. He currently serves on several committees, including the Committee on Councils, Agencies and Commissions, the Joint Committee on Transportation, and the Committee on Transportation, Utilities, and Infrastructure. In addition, he serves as Vice Chair of the Limestone County Legislation and Fiscal Responsibility Committee.
