Josephine Tabor, 30, was found by a hotel cleaner in a hotel room in Turkey on December 30, 2021, after committing suicide.

Josephine Tabor was also a successful businesswoman, running a successful online marketing and branding business. She has produced content for over 15,000 social media followers. Court hearing Josephine Tabor described her as an “independent and capable woman”.

A statement read at Taunton Coroner’s Court, presented by the family of Josephine Tabor said: “These retreats claimed to provide answers, they have thousands of followers, that does not make them qualified or altruistic.

“We know an investigation cannot assign blame, yet there is a cult side to many of these withdrawals.

“When a vulnerable person is told that a higher power can help them and that the universe is looking out for them, not friends and family, they have no one to turn to because they have been brainwashed that the answers are not here, but in another. universe.”
