CHARLESTON, SC — There is no greater challenge in college baseball right now than roster continuity, and the degree of difficulty increases even more when you have a coaching change. It’s become the default assumption that every time there’s a coaching change, you have to start the roster-building process from scratch.

However, that was not the case in South Carolina this offseason. Paul Mainieri took over the program and managed to hold things together well.
