Zeke Dawson died on Monday at the age of 84.

Dawson was Loretta Lynn’s fiddler singer in the Coal Miner Band.

Lynn’s social media pages posted a tribute her former band member.

“Every member of Loretta’s Coal Miner was like family to her,” the post read. “Zeke Dawson was with her for almost a decade. He will be missed by the entire Lynn family. This week, we send our love to his family.”

He was 84 years old. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

David Thornhill, Lynn’s former guitarist and bandleader, also posted on social media.

“Sorry to say but lost another ‘COALMINER’ this morning,” he posted. “Zeke Dawson, who was Loretta’s fiddler since 1974 for 9 years, passed away this morning at 1:00 AM. Zeke was my roommate on the road and a pretty unique person. He was always in a happy mood. and kept things lively on the road. He will be greatly missed. RIP my great friend.”
